I also believe that the director of care has to communicate better and more often to resident's families so that they understand what is going on. Daily life in the home has been significantly affected although activities and other daily routines have been maintain as much as possible. Visiting is still possible using our visiting pods in the garden or in the entrance to the home provided PPE and social distancing rules are adhered to.
Staff will review public health recommendations with the resident and the person accompanying them prior to going out. This includes avoiding large social gatherings, following masking and physical distancing as much as possible. All visitors must participate in active screening and daily rapid antigen testing as required and follow Sunnyside Home's vaccination policy. He was in so much pain and didn't sleep at all that night. On other occasions they left tubes underneath him causing pressure sore spots.
